Fight Result: Vic Darchinyan stopped Jorge Arce in Round Eleven

In a super flyweight mega fight, IBF, WBC and WBA unified champion Vic “the raging bull” Darchinyan (32-1-1, 26 KOs) scored a grueling eleventh round TKO over WBA interim champ Jorge “El Travieso” Arce (51-5-1, 39 KOs) on Saturday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Darchinyan dominated Arce beginning in the first round unleashing his big punches to Arce. Arce bloodied Darchinyan in round three. Round four was in good action, with Darchinyan rocking Arce in the last minute. Darchinyan continued dominating Arce on the latter rounds. Darchinyan shook Arce in round seven. Darchinyan knocks out Mijares in round 9!

Vic Darchinyan, now the new WBC/WBA/IBF super flyweight champion shocked the boxing fans and the rest of the Mexicans when the new champion stopped and knocked out Cristian Mijares (36-3-2, 14 KOs) in the ninth round of their highly anticipated fight on Saturday night at the Home Depot in Carson, California. Darchinyan dropped Mijares with an uppercut at the end of round one to give the audience a hint on the final outcome of the 115lb championship bout. Darchinyan continued to be aggressive and fought like a bull landing more solid punches than MIjares. Darchinyan’s awkward but powerful and unpredictable style gave Mijares trouble in controlling the fight. The bout ended with a spectacular ninth round KO when Darchinyan landed a huge straight left that sent Mijares on the floor. The referee stopped the fight a few second left in the ninth round.
